People, cafes, vendors, street merchants, buskers, historic buildings, art installations and much more. The power of observation underpins the art of great street photography. Learning to "see" interesting detail is a practised skill and we introduce you to easy methods that will open your photographer's eye and expose you to a world that is alive with detail. The most rewarding part of the class is learning how to approach interesting people and have them willingly pose for you.

We will also go over settings, focusing techniques and lens choices common to street photography to help us capture those random chance encounters.

Scott
I'm a practicing artist and educator with experience teaching drawing and watercolor to beginners of all ages. My in-person classes take a hands-on, low-pressure approach, focusing on foundational skills like seeing shapes, understanding line and wash, and building comfort with materials. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to play (watercolor will do the rest).

I love teaching in real-world, community settings because art is better when it's shared. These sessions are as much about connecting with others as they are about learning new skills. Expect practical guidance, encouragement, and a relaxed atmosphere where exploration matters more than getting it “right.”

Scott is available for private bookings

Available most Saturdays from 2 pm until 6 pm

The inspiration for this piece was the "fall" color of the beautiful trees in the Texas cow country in February. I titled it "Texas Winter Beauty" because I love our beautiful 65? weather in February.

I live outside of Nashville but rarely spend any time downtown. I recently spent some time walking around and taking pictures. This area is iconic with Tootsies and the Batman building. I added the guy with the hat for interest.

It was a free photo from pixabay. I was drawn to painting this because it was black and white and showed an older gentleman in deep thought. It made me wonder what he was thinking.

Title or Location: Replica of AI generated photo
Unfortunately, I cannot take credit for the design. I saw the AI generated image in a Facebook group and wanted to duplicate it. I started painting a year ago at the age of 66 and have watched hundreds of hours of YouTube videos. Even though I can draw, I traced the image because I wanted to paint, not draw. I am happy to provide the original AI photo. By duplicating other artwork or working from photos, I have learned shading, depth, and perception, which I feel has aided me on learning thi
